A Rose By Any Name
Yaassss I finally finished my pink fleece capsule! I bought this fabric a spell longer back then I would like to admit. I was dying to make some pieces in fleece to have some more watt cozy pieces. This winter has been intense and I had forgotten how cold they can get and I have had cozy warm fabrics on the brain. When I was trying these on to fit the waist elastic and hem I didn’t want to get out of them because, they are so soft! I love me a good pair of wide leg pants on any day of the week. I am really obsessed with them at the moment. They are so comfortable and I can wear them all day long without feeling that late afternoon compression - you all know what I am talking about!
I hit a bit of a slowdown over the holidays and basically went into hibernation mode putting my projects on pause. I have learned over the years how to better balance my energy. I used to dip the candle in lighter fluid and burn it at both ends for as long as I could and then crash. I was originally going to do a pair of pink overalls and a jogger set but, my obsession with wide leg pants took over. I actually have enough left to make something else maybe another hoodie with full sleeves!
This or something similar is practically my daily uniform. Comfort is just as important to me as style is for daily life. Feeling good and put together but, comfortable is my favorite jam. I have daily routines but, they sometimes get shifted around. For example the day I shot this I normally workout first thing in the morning but, I wanted to get ready and out the door to shoot this first. After I wrapped on the shoot came home got a few hours of editing done and took a break to workout and then a zoom call never having to change!
This house is one of my favorite houses in the city! I used to do laundry right next to it but, their machine has been out of quarters for months. They don’t have the machines set up to use cards so, I haven’t been going there anymore. I have been wanting to shoot this for awhile but, just waiting for the right outfit. Today was that day and the weather was perfect! There was more foot traffic then usual but, I later realized it was a holiday. I would love to have a wall in my house painted with this! The whole house is such a visual delight from the purple and pink color pallet to the giant rose trees in the front yard! It was a nice morning of shooting and feels really good to be getting back into the groove.
