5 Looks For Pear | Triangle Shape

With a pear shape you can have a lot of fun playing with volume and embellishments for you upper body. Being a pear shape you shoulders and waist are smaller in comparison to your hips. To create balance you want to create lines highlighting drawing the eye to your upper body. I was recently working on a Positano Style mood board for Pinterest and am still jamming on the Italian country side vibe.

Who doesn’t love a cotton candy pink paired with a crisp snow white. With this look we see how to play with volume and color to draw the eye upwards. This jumpsuit is to die for and the big tie bow adds volume and interest to the bust line. This puff tapered sleeve adds not only a little drama to the shoulder line but, because it stops at the elbow it is creating a cinched waist. Think about creating balance and drawing the eye with color like with this pop pink blazer.

I really love simple silhouettes with unique features. This dress from Cult Gia is the perfect example of that. They took a classic button front gathered white dress and added a fun midriff cutout making the piece stand out.

Add some drama to jeans with big sleeves and color. This is a great example of using color to create balance. Darker wash denim will minimize the lower body and the rich bougainvillea adds the boom to your upper body.

This seersucker fishtail skirt is heaven! It can be worn dressed up or down and can be worn throughout many seasons. I wanted to create a monotone look so, I chose a fun graphic tee shirt in the same color combo to show how you can still differentiate the upper and lower body. This crop shacket we will call it, with the pleated sleeves is a fun way to add volume without adding bulk.

High waist shorts that hug the curve are a must if you are a pair shape. I mean really for almost everyone’s closet! What I love even more is the pleated paper bag style waist. Using print is a great way to enhance or minimize an area.
