Chasing The Tail Of A Dream

I squeaked out these high waist mid thigh shorts from left over fabric from an outfit I made for a performance I did right before covid hit the scene. I usually always buy way more extra fabric for projects just in case and then usually make other outfits ☺ when I'm done. Black doesn’t take up a lot of space in my closet so, I thought I'll only buy what I need and still ended up with extra.

It wasn’t that much so, I ended up putting in the scrap bag and forgot about it. When it starts to get full I pull all of the fabric put and start working new garments out of all the pieces.

My favorite thing about working with atlhletic stretch fabric is the four way stretch element! You can manipulate the pattern layout in ways that you can’t do on non stretch fabrics maximizing the yardage.

So after some debate on what to make and how to layout out of the pattern the shimmery shorts were born! I paired them here with the coral long sleeve crop and boots for a rocker sort of vibe. These Baublebar earrings I die for they are black + gold hearts with tassels.
