Mad For Plaid Winter Looks

Winter is in full swing and our calendars are full of holiday festivities to attend! Someone get me a toasted hazelnut mocha to wear with these looks! I am mad for plaid right now and wanted to put some looks together in this creamy toasted color pallet. Plaids in these warm earthy shades are not only great for winter but, they will transition very well throughout all of the seasons. If you know me I am a big believer in an outfit that can take me from different events throughout the day without having to change. It is a driving inspirational force when creating looks for myself, clients or just for fun. These looks are smart casual with a touch of sparkle.

Plaid is not just for lumberjacks or anyone who lives in the northwest lol, I can say that because, I grew up there and let me tell you the mad for plaid is real. Which could be why it wasn’t my favorite print when I was younger because, the most common ways it was worn was not chic or stylish to me. I really wanted focus on fun easy ways to incorporate plaid into your wardrobe. Opting for brown and gold color pallet gives the looks a splash of holiday jazz without being so holiday if that makes sense. I kept the accessories simple choosing cream with a pop of metallic gold that go with all of the looks. I hope you are feeling inspired and cozy from these outfits. Take your look from the office to the holiday get together without missing a beat.

Hope For Flowers Plaid Suit

A suit is a great foundational piece we should all have in our closets even if we don’t have a profession that requires wearing one. You can wear them in so many different ways.

For this look I wanted to show how to make it more festive by adding a little sparkle with this sequin mock turtleneck. Perfect for for an easy transition from day to evening.

Burberry Trench Coat

Never underestimate the power of a good coat to pull together a great look. If you are shy about adding prints into your wardrobe coats and jackets are a great place to experiment.

I love this Balmain white and gold knit skirt set! It is simple and chic and layering it with this beautiful plaid trench packs a punch. The vertical panel in the front elongates the body while adding some curve with the horizontal panels. It also gives you lot’s of options to wear them as separates to create other looks in your wardrobe.

Re/Done Sweater Vest

If you love the preppy With the 90’s trends all the rage you can count on a good selection of sweater vests to choose from. You can take an all neutral look and make it really pop with a splash of plaid. I chose a ribbed turtle neck with just a splash of glitter in it to add a little shine to this preppy vibe. Even without the sweater vest this look is great on it’s own

Veronica Beard Dress

How cute is this plaid wrap skirt dress paired with the simple creme accessories. The puffed sleeves and jewel neckline make this is a great option for adding volume to your upper body.

The drape and placement of the print creates a lot of vertical lines giving the body a longer look. The cotton fabric and ease in this dress make it comfortable and chic. Perfect for the office or a holiday feast with friends!

Burberry Sweater

How cozy is this sweater paired with the cream denim a line skirt. This is a great example of pulling out your summer and spring pieces to layer with warm winter pieces.

Akris A Line Skirt

A line skirts are another good foundational piece for almost everyone to have in there closet. Whether it is a cute denim style like the one pictured above or something more flowing like this cotton plaid skirt from Akris.

If you have a inverted triangle body shape this is a perfect example of using print to add volume to your lower body.
