Style Crush | Reformation
My current style crush is on Reformation. They are a sustainable clothing brand based in Los Angeles. Their story began in 2009 by selling vintage clothing out of a small Los Angeles storefront. They then expanded into making our own stuff, with a focus on sustainability. That have stores all over the place including one here in San Francisco on Valencia street which I am going to have to make a trip over there to see the new spring pieces. There are a lot of things that I love about this brand and one is they treat their employees well. They built their own factory in LA to create a safe, healthy, and fair working environment for their teams, and for workers throughout our supply chain. They do so through partnerships with industry groups like the Fair Labor Association, conducting on-site social responsibility audits, and are committed to ensuring workers have a voice. Unfortunately a lot of clothing manufactures only care about profit and these workers are subjected to deplorable working conditions with little pay. So whether the pieces are coming from their factory in LA or from one they have partnered with overseas you can rest assured garments are made with fair and human practice in mind.
They have a recycling program call RefRecycling where they pay you ( yes I said pay you) to send back you to send back your Reformation shoes, denim, sweaters, outerwear, and activewear you no longer want or need. So you make space in your closet and they make clothes with recycled materials. Every week, they release new, limited edition collections. This keeps their production less wasteful, and exclusive, so no one at the party will be wearing the same dress as you. I mean how cool is that!
