Driving With The Top Down
Happy Pride month!! I love that we get to kick off summer with Pride and fun fact every year in pride weekend the weather is always gorgeous and hot. Which is pretty amazing because, summer weather in San Francisco is not really your standard hot weather jam. I got to perform on stage at Pride one year with my dance teacher. It was pretty amazing we had a trailer set up behind the stage I mean so VIP it was pretty cool! The energy was amazing being on stage with all of those people in the audience! Good times!
I am going all out with print and color with this look. This shrug hoodie is one of my favorite pieces! I love it because, it is a great layering piece that give you the feeling of a hoodie without completely covering your top. I love wearing hoodies but, I rarely actually wear the hood. The only time I wear the hood is when it is chilly outside and I am conserving heat but, I love them on anything! I paired the shrug with the matching print joggers and the brown crop tank.
For the handbag I went with the oversized Betsey Johnson tote in the rose print and polka dots to add another bold print to mix. I used red accessories which may not seem to make sense because, there is no red in the outfit but, there is a lot of pink. When choosing colors to mix an easy way to splash it up is think about a color wheel or prime color in different shades. So pink for example is a color that comes from red and in this look they are both in the deeper hue range so they compliment. Have fun experiment with mixing color and prints by just trying them on. Sometimes our mind can get in the way thinking no red roses and polk dots wouldn’t go with rainbow leopard but, when we see it together it suddenly makes sense.
