Knits and Stripes
Spring here I come, is exactly how I feel when I look at this outfit, I am so ready for spring!! I discovered this skirt when I was looking for Valentine’s Day looks and fell in love! I died when I found there was a matching crop sweater! Stripes are very on trend right now for spring so you will be seeing lot’s of variations out there.
I love this color pallet it gives you a lot a room to pair it with matching or complimentary colors. I decided to pair it with the white denim jacket and sneaker wedges to make the color pop even more. Adding another stripe element with this super cute elastic belt from Wolf & Badger. I really wanted to keep layering on the color with the accessories and a little extra splash of print with the sunglasses.
This look can be worn so many ways for so many occasions. It may not be on the standard essentials list but, I think a good knit set like this is. This could easily be styled for work, running errands, or travel. Knits are great travel pieces because, you don’t have to worry about wrinkles and pressing just fold (or roll) and go. Stripes do get sort of a bad wrap in fashion they are so bod and eye catching but, sometimes not always the most flattering.
When looking at stripe patterns I take into consideration the width of the stripe and color pallet. Different stripes for different body types! I like a nice 1 -2” stripe similar to this one I find gives a leaner long look versus a much wider stripe that draws the eye outward. A wider stripe may look amazing on your upper body but, not much on the lower body. So try things on mix and match different stripe patterns and colors to see what works best for your style.
