Summer Of Rage
What’s the saying life imitates art? Can’t heal the wound if you don’t kill the infection. It has always been important to m to speak up on the things that matter to me. Many in business will say don’t talk about anything polarizing it may hurt your business. And that may be true but, I believe it is my duty to speak up regardless of how big or small our platform is. I cannot sit by and watch our democracy being shredded and not say anything, that is just not who I am. It is also why I work in fashion we can express whatever we want through our style.
I have been thinking a lot and channeling Patrick Kelly who is one of my favorite designers. I am always inspired by his energy and work. He used his platform and work to make powerful statements about racism, sexuality, and politics. That has always been my favorite thing about design and style is I can do and create whatever I want. I have been hitting the streets almost every week to protest not only Roe v Wade but, for all of our human rights. This is not just a woman’s issue this is a human issue. If that offends you and you don’t want to support or work with me, I say don’t let the door hit you in the ass. Because at the end of the day none of it matters if our freedom is stripped away from us.
I know the energy has been dense I mean we have have been in the thick of it since the covid lock down but, we are in it and quite frankly I am thankful! In the words of Elle Woods this country was way over due for a haircut. So take care of yourself rest, eat well and warrior up. I mean really we have been fighting for our rights since the day this country was founded on stolen land. There is always work to be done. Sending you so much love!
