Green Is The New Black
I made this outfit for protesting! I have been protesting with Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights in the bay area since Roe V Wade was overturned. They ask people to wear green and black at the protests and marches to show solidarity. Now by no means is this required but, you know me I do love a color theme. I have a few smatterings of green in my closet and not much black so, I decided to make it a project. I had a few thoughts on what I was looking for but, really just open to exploring. Then I found this I mean for me it ticked all of the boxes! It has green and black a little white to make it pop and pink my spirit color.
The fabrics is a super soft cotton I mean I literally want to wear them all of the time. Which makes it perfect for marching in the streets. Protest and make it fashion! I did go back for a few more yards up next camo overalls.
I actually had a different location in mind to shoot this look. It was a mural in the Castro that I’ve had on my places to shoot list and thought the camo would be perfect. When I had gotten there they had it fenced off normally I just move them but, there were a lot up and quite frankly didn’t want to mess with it. So I moved on and let the wind take me. Not too long and I stumbled across this beautiful green house and Whoomp there it is. It is a good reminder to have a vision and to be flexible on how you get there.
